Divisionratings

During the trial period for the Division-rating, all non-HU-Division members are required to get an approval from the HU-Headquarters before they start controlling in the LHCC-FIR.

The member shall submit his request for the approval via email to HU-HQ. The emails subject shall only contain: DIV-rating. The content of the email shall contain the member VID, full name and rating. The training coordinators will assign a trainer from the HU-Division to check out the member on an appropriate position according to the members rating. The following ratings will require a check on the following positions.

1. Advanced ATC Trainee:
LHBP_TWR (Including GND position)

2. Aerodrome Controller + Approach Controller:
LHBP_APP (Theory questions will asked about APP/TWR/GND and DEL)

3. Center Controller:
LHCC_CTR (Theory questions will asked about LHBP_APP/TWR/GND/DEL and LHSM and LHDC TWR)

NOTE: Members with a rating lower than Advanced ATC Trainee will not be considered for a Division rating.

Member who wish to get the Division rating are strongly requested to prepare themselves thoroughly before making the request. This can be done by looking and listening to Local members while they are controlling. Also the charts and procedures available on the website should be studied.

If members who have been awarded the DIV-rating are observed by any HU-DIV staffmember performing malpractises within the LHCC-FIR, the HU-staff reserves the right to withdraw the DIV-rating from the member.

We kindly request all members who wish to gain a HU-Division approval to be patient.

Regards,
Zoltán Bencsik(HU-DIR) and Gergely Galajda(HU-ADIR)

Notice ALPHA 10 December 2009

Over the last few years, it has become apparent that a lot of members try to get advanced ATC ratings in divisions with low traffic and lower requirements. As soon as they have the rating, they begin to control outside of the division where the exam was taken on busy positions that they are not fully competent on. In the end, this leads to a bad quality of ATC on the network.

At the moment, each division performs the exams of their members with their own requirements. The HQ Training Department provides a minimum standard that must be fulfilled but divisions can increase these requirements if they wish.  This leads to members with the same ATC ratings controlling at different abilities across all the divisions. As a result, the HQ Training Department has decided to take necessary action to combat this common problem.

It is envisaged that eventually, an ATC rating will only be valid in the country in which it was gained. Before this can be done, some tests first need to be made. Certain divisions are participating in these tests. The HU division is one of them. Other participating divisions include:
- AT
- CO
- DE
- EG
- FR
- GR
- HU
- ID
- IE
- KW
- NL
- UK

The test period runs from 15th December 2009 until 30th March 2010. During this time, only members registered in the HU division are permitted to control in the HU division. Members from other divisions can be permitted to control here but they need specific approval from the Division HQ. (This goes for all other divisions participating in the trial also). If approval is granted, a note will be placed on the members profile under “Staff Comments” confirming that this is the case. (Any members requesting division changes also need to have their existing ratings approved before the transfer takes place.)

If any member not belonging to the division logs onto a position without approval from the division HQ, they will be asked to close their connection. If they refuse to do so, a supervisor may be called to help deal with the situation. This may involve the user being manually disconnected by the supervisor.

If you do not belong to the HU division and would like to control here after the 15th December, please email hu-hq@ivao.aero with details. A member of our training department will then contact you to arrange a practical check. A practical check will be made before approval is granted.
